American Jihadist

Paul Smith comes of age in Pakistan where his parents worked on a water purification project for the Peace Corps. Schooled in a madrassa, the impressionable youth is inculcated in jihadism by mujahedeen fighters battling the Russian army in neighboring Afghanistan. Local Islamists realize that once they defeat the Russians, their next enemy will be the oil-hungry West, particularly the United States. Paul could be a useful asset in that inevitable conflict. He is given a powerful short-acting sedative used in brainwashing and, years later and after returning to the United States, all hell breaks loose.
