The aliens who currently administer Earth have a simple proverb: Survival is sanity. Forcibly conscripted into their cadet training program as a child, nineteen-year-old Sam Locklear grew up on the alien homeworld. Now he’s on his way home to work in their Los Angeles headquarters and to find the line between being used and using them. But when his homecoming speech sets off a string of violence: a hate message scrawled in blood, a drive-by attack, and a riot that ends in fire; Sam must uncover the hidden reason for the cadet program.
