Handfasting: A Celtic ceremony of engagement. Katie and Steven met one summer in while traveling in England. They could not be married then but they had joined hands in the old abbey church, and were engaged to be married. For a decade, Katie had been waiting, hoping, praying, that Stephen would come for her, and, on her birthday, she received flowers from him, a dinner invitation inside. Stephen, though, is not Katherine's only suitor. Bill Wilson has long planned to wed her. He decides to stake his claim, the conflict turns vicious, and Katie must choose the future she wants.
